I just tried rampup. It is definitively small, but, not that useful. It is missing several important commands like mkdir, lsmod, modproble, etc. I was not able to mount a hard drive.
It seems to be only usable on a CDROM. It also appears to be missing the USB storage driver. I tried to install it to a USB flash drive and it hangs up. It starts and then stops.
It is a good start, but, needs so more.

I managed to run off a USB stick - used one known to boot and deleted all files but the syslinux, and copied over rampups files. But, yes, I couldn't mount anything, or find any other files I put on the disk (token .txt file for instance).
What do we do next?
