Well, I guess there is an option in the icewm config file, but it is probably better to:
-right click in a rox window
-options
-compatibility
-turn off the "pass all backdrop clicks to the window manager"

:D Hello Ali_puppy,
Hope you are enjoying Icepup!!! Remember that it has its own thread, if you have any specific questions :D ...

Ive been looking thru /root/.icewm/preferences and cant find it..There is a setting for turning off the menu if you rightclick the taskbar....I`ll keep looking, but till then,

@disciple, :D great answer.. Quick and easy.. I like it... :D

If I cant find it I`ll ask Ttuuxxx or WhoDo, or one of the other Icewm gurus... :D

@ Ali_puppy

This is how I turn it off.

Click on the file icon on the desktop, then click on the eye icon to show hidden files. Click on the .icewm icon and then right click on the preferences file and select 'open as text'. Preferences should open in an editor. Scroll down the file about half way and change the followning line:

# Desktop mouse-button click to show the window list menu
DesktopWinMenuButton=1 # [0-20]

to

# Desktop mouse-button click to show the window list menu
DesktopWinMenuButton=0 # [0-20]

Save the preferences file and restart icewm.

@Ali-puppy

Sorry about that. I misread what you were trying to turn off.
what I did was turn off the left mouse button desktop display of the window list menu not the program menu

two enteries down from the window list entry you will find:

# Desktop mouse-button click to show the root menu
DesktopMenuButton=3 # [0-20]

change =3 to =0, save and restart icewm.

By changing all three enteries in this section to =0, you can disable all mouse button click effects on the desktop background. Clicks on desktop icons still works but all other mouse clicks do nothing.
