Mplayer question

#1 Post by Artie »

I'm having problems with Gxine with especially Quicktime. Is it safe to download the latest Mplayer from DotPup_Downloader to Puppy 1.0.6 or should I wait or get it somewhere else? I'm using the codecs from Klhrevolutionist. Should I uninstall those, uninstall Gxine or just install Mplayer without doing anything first? Thanks! :-)

The pre7 can be installed in 106.

It uses the sames Codes as gxine, so it should use the ones from KLH :)
You can keep gxine, just install the mplayer-dotpup in addition, that's all.

If it does not work with radiostations, install the "Codecs and Mplayer-Plugin for Mozilla" too. It includes a .dll, that might be required.
In mozilla, still gxine will be used, until you explicitely activate the mplayer-plugin from the "Dotpups-menue".

I also attach this dll to this posting, for KLH's codecs you should just need this one in addition.
