Can Puppy open microsoft exel spread sheet?

i have install puppy linux in our work station,i have no problem but when
i try to copy and open files from spread sheet to microsoft exel problem
arises. i can't open them. i try to install open office but i can't install it
properly. Or the version of open office that i downloaded is not compatible.

Do you have any suggestion on what better software that can open
a spread sheet to microsoft exel.tnx alot

Chubby Puppy has Open Office installed and scalc will open Excel files or Puppy 1.0.5 has Gnumeric and this will also open Excel files.
