auto DHCP timeout (IPVALL only displayed)

#1 Post by axel »

Hello -
running Puppy 4.1.1 on a Gateway Solo 2150 (full installation) connected to Fujistu-Siemes via lancable.
Lancard is pcmcia EP401 (NE2000 compatible).
Trying to connect to internet via Network Wizard using AUTODHCP- timed out after 30 secs with message IPVALL and within splitsecond I can see an IP address but unable to catch the full address for static IP address.
The network wizards sees the pcmcia card and has (obviously loaded) driver pcmcia-cs.

Where can I increase the timeout value to say 60 seconds. It seems that the AUTODHCP process just needs a little bit more time to get thru.

At the first time (some weeks ago) running from a 4.0 live CD the lancard EP401 connected instantly to the internet and brought up www.google.de in seamonkey.
Beginners luck ? Like whole in one and then never again ?

Gateway Solo connects to Internet gateway fujistu-siemens (Win XP) via 4 port LAN switch (harware only).

When bypassing the Win XP and conneting the Gateway Solo directly to DSL FritzBox 7113 via lan cable the internet acces works fine as the FritzBox is the DCHP server.

need a helping hand
thks Axel

.... problem fixed.
reason: network definitions on Fujitsu-Siemens Win XP was incorrect.

WLAN USB stick definitons:
select "advanced" tab:
tick box "allow others users to use internet connection .... " was not set
