Belive it or not, this is a wallpaper... only 1kB

Image

Yep, that little tiny line. Don't believe me? Scale it. (It's even a little difficult to right click and save image..)

Nice! This is what WhoDo needs! Cut some bloat from 4.2!

I reckon he could have 20 really nice wallpapers in 4.2 and keep it under 50k.

OK folks, the challenge is out there. Help 4.2 trim some bloat. Submit your bestest, smallest wallpapers here! :) :D :P Lets limit them to 5k, rather generous I reckon.

Skin it!

#83 Post by steve_s »

All right all you gimpifiers!

Check this out..this thread talks about installing mplayer and using the skins to trick out your desktop further.

Well, you can then take it to the next step.

Have a Puppy wallpaper? Why not make a skin theme for your media player to go with it?

Go to the folder where you put the skins /usr/local/share/mplayer/skins/ and find the one you like/want to modify. Make a new directory, copy all the stuff from that folder into it, then begin modifying a la gimp.

You will have then taken the first steps towards creating your own skins for media players (I'm sure this process can be followed for vlc, just haven't checked on it).

Here's the very first mod that I've done, coming up with something called forest. You saw it here first... 8)

Nice idea, but I don't think it would look nice when stretched. :)

Hello; there are loads of wonderful wallpapers here. I find that the free ones are of a quality that is perfectly acceptable so there's no need to subscribe - though you might like to and thereby support the artist.

Jay...can you make that one an acrylic violin she's wearing?..or a banjo with a clear top cover...a 5 string banjo is ok.

yup that's my style..love it...red blooded male here.
Eric

EDIT: and shorter hair with a bow or one of those things the 60's folk players used..can't remember the name of it but it has buttons to form the cords and looked like a harp with a base and strings.

EDIT..now I remember...an autoharp.
