Hi, As you can guess im very new to this Puppy thing. In fact to this Linux thing really. but is there a way or how can you install visual boy advance on a puppy 4.1.1?
Ive tried the standard compile way but make isnt a command, nor is sudo and those are the main ones i know. so im stuck
is there a way?
Thanks
Visual boy Advance?
The sudo command is not necessary in Puppy because you are running as root. As for make, you must have the devx package installed to use it. You see, many people do not use a compiler for anything, so Barry kept the compiler separate to keep size down. See: http://www.puppylinux.org/wiki/archives ... /compiling
The devx file for 4.1.1 is here: ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributio ... vx_411.sfs
Once you have devx loaded, you have access to the standard GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) tool chain. This includes g++ (C++ compiler), gcc (C compiler), make, etc.
If any of that is unclear, don't be afraid to ask. Good luck!
