I think this kind of thing should *really* be avoided

since the trend at google these days is to create a way for native x86 code to run in the browser

I don't think gears does this yet... but does anyone remember activeX and word doc viruses?

one of the main reasons Linux is safe ks because of good design choices don't mess it up by running really insecure code

I agree it is cool but javascript is bad enough .. Smile

imagine if you opened a webpage and it deleted all your files in ~./

of course im sure google would try to prevent somehting like that from happening but there is always a weak place a hacker can figure out how to exploit
