I think you'll find CPU-ID is switchable in Bios is visible or hidden
From my experience it's invariably hidden, so will need enabling & rebooting

try typing at a console cat cpuinfo

or use the HWInfo tool in the menu

I'm working in an AMD which was never supposed to have a 'unique id'

Like Aitch says you can cat /proc/cpuinfo

Puppy was not built with cpuid

It does however have a utility called dmidecode, which reveals a lot of information.

Then as Aitch mentioned hwinfo

If you can learn anything about your unique id, I'd be interested in a post back.
