This is not exactly what I hoped it would be but it is not too bad for a start.

If anyone wants to collaborate on this one email me and I would be pleased to have the help.
All feedback is appreciated. Hope you find it helpful.

Hmmm. For puppy linux answers link in your signature, the site http://www.puppyos.com/ is searched, but it is no longer active. No harm done.
Good work on the search.

All fixed, Thanks for pointing that out. Has anyone tried the App search?

Hi peppyy.
Is there any way of including the forum in the search?
I just tried a search for a dotpet that I had uploaded to the forum in March last year but is not anywhere else on the net. (it has been downloaded 92 times as of today so there is a need for it ) But neither this search nor the "Apps" search you have added to http://wellminded.com/puppy/pupsearch.html (Is this just a link to this search? Or a different one ) found it, although the original "Answers" search did find the post it is attached to.
No doubt there are plenty of other dotpets in the same boat on the forum.

Greetings Dingo, I seem to be having a problem getting to the ziddu.com site for some reason. Perhaps it has an issue with adblock plus or something.
I have added dockupuppy and it should include the listings though.
Ttuuxxx, are you watching now?
Billwho?
When I was testing I found that if I included the forum I got hundreds of hits on the discussions but very few on the applications. I can look into some different filters though that I can add to the Answers engine and see if that works. Is there a specific index on the forum still that I should add? There used to be an index of the ones on the forum but It looks quite dated?

added puppy apps search amongst dokupuppy links
http://puppylover.netsons.org/dokupuppy/links
since dokupuppy actually has pagerak 5, anyone has a puppy website or resource or repository, may e-mail me at address on home page:
http://puppylover.netsons.org/dokupuppy/doku.php
(wiki admin contact) so I can link on dokupuppy and site linked may grow and gain pagerank

Ahh nuts! I was afraid it might be something like that. Unfortunately I have no idea about the index. I only suggested it because I have got some good stuff off the forum from time to time, that and it's where anything I have had to contribute has wound up.

bill if you have firefox you can use my search for this forum, it wprks better than the default just extract the 2 files to /usr/lib/firefox/searchplugins/ folder
theny go to right handside where theres a dropdown search box, select murga forum and type your name in it.
This is the results when I tried it
http://www.google.com/search?q=Billwho&sitesearch=http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/
not bad 545 responses when you only made 378 post.
ttuuxxx

If you restrict your forum search to Additional Software (Pups n Stuff) you should get most of the applications.
Most of the software links are from the old wiki and are way out of date. PM Prit1 to see what he found when he created the community web site software listing.
Hope that helps

Can't find /usr/lib/firefox/ in 215CE Alpha. The closest I could find was /usr/local/firefox/searchplugins/ so I extracted to there. The files were named Murga-Forum.gif and Murga-Forum.src. Are these the correct files? The reason I am asking is that all the other files in the directory have a .xml extension.
Nothing showed up in the search box but I have not restarted FF yet so that may be the problem.

Seems my name has been dropped a few times for some reason . Plus when I tried to do a search from the results page you linked to; for libtomath which is one of the dotpets I have uploaded to the forum I got two hits. Both for the same post. Also the search was picking up on where I mentioned the dotpet in the post and not the attached dotpet itself. Still a good search engine just not for apps attached to the forum.
