PQI USB flash not seen by 1.0.6

My nice new PQI 256MB USB2.0 I-Stick micro flash drive is not seen by Puppy, either 1.0.5 or 1.0.6. (Does show in USB Viewer, but not otherwise usable.)
But it is seen by Knoppix 4.0.2 on same computer.
This is particularly sad since my main hope is to use the new PQI for booting Puppy.
