Thank you.
I had just moved to Quirky 1.2 and started to have multiple Network interfaces (1 ethernet, 2 wlan), and had no clue why ctorrent stopped working. Then I couldn't get Transmission to work (missing lib). 2 torrent apps stopped working for me for 2 completely different reasons.
Now torrent's working great.

Thanks to you Michalis, your new pet works fine on lucid 5.1...one thing I've noticed different from 2.04 is that now the executable is "transmission-gtk", where before it was "transmission"...so I suggest uninstalling 2.04 before installing 2.10, in order not to have 2 transmission entries in the programs menu...
Indeed they changed the name and also added three new executables and so it grew up in size. Yes you should first uninstall the previous one. Actually it's better to always unistall the previous version before installing the new one. After all, all the personal settings, ratios etc they are not being deleted by unistalling.eden6000 wrote:one thing I've noticed different from 2.04 is that now the executable is "transmission-gtk", where before it was "transmission"...so I suggest uninstalling 2.04 before installing 2.10, in order not to have 2 transmission entries in the programs menu...

Hi Michalis
the mailcap now should be
application/x-bittorrent; /usr/bin/transmission-gtk "$@"
they change the name some time ago from transmission to transmission-gtk and "$@" works a bit better than "%s"

do you know what is the exact difference between "$@" and "%s"? I've seen both of them being used but I haven't noticed any practical difference.

When I tested it with "$@" it seamed like it worked better, "$@" is what we use for most system mimes also.Michalis wrote:Corrected, ttuuxxx wrote:Hi Michalis

updatededen6000 wrote:Michalis, version 2.20 is out, when you have time.....
From now and on all the files I'll host them externally in order to reduce the bandwidth usage. So the files are in the links.
Pay attention that the new versions of transmission >2.20 need the latest libevent 2.0.10 and so you have to install it. For more informations check the first post.

Michalis...I think there is something wrong with this version of transmission (2.20), since it fails to download anything...it gives a series of errors, or finds no peers...using version 2.21 in ubuntu works fine....I don't know if it's a problem related to this specific version or some incompatibility with puppy.... did you or someone else find the same problems? maybe we could try to compile version 2.21?
I haven't noticed any of these problems. Anyway I have download 2.21 and will compile it. I hadn't noticed it because they haven't announce it in their webpage.eden6000 wrote:Michalis...I think there is something wrong with this version of transmission (2.20), since it fails to download anything...it gives a series of errors, or finds no peers...using version 2.21 in ubuntu works fine....I don't know if it's a problem related to this specific version or some incompatibility with puppy.... did you or someone else find the same problems? maybe we could try to compile version 2.21?
