Also as Pwidgets goes and puppy, well Puppy is an Australia Linux Operating System right? well it was upto 4.12, anyways why with Pwidgets when you use the World Clock you don't have any Australian times?? Like Sydney, man thats an oversight for sure.

Well there's a way too, move show-widgets from /root/startup folder, and that will make your start up with no widgets

Using Icewm, when I try to delete multiple selected files, in one directory, with the mouse in Rox-Filer window, I have to move the mouse cursor outside the button "Yes", then back on the button to delete the following file. This does not happen with JWM.
Another thing, how to have multiple virtual desktops?

Na I don't have an issue with Pwidgets, I actually like them, I'm just sticking up for the people who don't want them. I can see there points and would like to give them the best possible solution. well if they don't want them, and we all agree that fixmenus is slower on 4.2 than 4.12 or any other puppy to date, then a simple revert back to the earlier fixmenus and a kill that script in startup should do it. that should be easy, I'll work it out tomorrow, its late tonight.

Thats always been like that in icewm, nothing you can do about it, sorry.
to get your workspace numbers up first go to
/usr/share/icewm/preferences
right click and open it up as text
then click edit/search
and look for these two items
or manually scroll and find them and change them to what you see below
TaskBarShowWorkspaces=1 # 0/1
WorkspaceNames = " 1 ", " 2 "
that will give you 2 workspaces

Tested Printer Brother on Parallel port... works great, on Desktop machine. Tested Canon ip4300 on Laptop works great.

One minor issue... can the notice for User and Password be in the requested box already? If not please change to BRIGHT RED or BRIGHT BLUE... the information is easy to miss...

Having used the routine many time I did not have a problem... but a new user getting to the second screen will be lost...and probably take a long time to find out what he has to do. ))).

I am not sure if this is a bug or just a normal issue.. I will load older versions and further test. But on my laptop if I select 640 x 480 x 24.... the X server reverts to 1400 x 1050 64H, 59 f.

On the desktop with different video it works as expected... and displays as 640 X 480. Remember others mentioning something similar, earlier in the tread.

I half followed the directions on renaming the r8180 directory.. renamed it r8180xxx.. tried the network wizard to let auto locate the correct driver... NO GO.... so manually searched.. but at the moment do not remember just what the correct drive is... Sorry, I just returned from long trip...so unorganized...and a bit sleep deprived as some of you ... Anyway.. even restarted X... for me the wireless on the Thinkpad issue is still dead in the water....

Here I made 3 packages, just install the one you want 2,3,4 desktops
just refresh menus when finished

fixmenus has NOTHING to do with Pwidgets.

What slows it down is that it builds symlinks in /root/my-applications/bin. This could better be a part of petget. - When installing a package, also add a symlink in /root/my-applications/bin. Be my guest.......

Here's a menu I put together tonight, comparing the flat orange and what the icewm only would look like by default,it wouldn't effect JWM menu at all.
I tried to keep some 'orange' around each, but tomorrow I'll make another just with different icons, the menu theme was 56kb extracted and 22kb compressed, not much bloat for all those icons.

Streamripper will be a addon in repo hopefully if WhoDo says its ok, So removing the button would stop the addon from working, if we had extra space it maybe would of been included. Or if zigbert would come onboard and help, he could modify his small script to work out of the box.

streamripper is 109kb (+21kb for the Man page) compiled. I'm not sure what zigbert script you refer to. Don't you just point to streamripper in streamtuner's config file?

Shouldn't those system links being built be a part of the icon switcher, really isn't that the only time when they need to be built? so basically a icon switcher with its own fixmenus, and when users want to do a regular fixmenus menus because they installed just 1 program, they shouldn't have to wait for like 200 icons to be check and linked right, if they are already there, then why rebuild them? and like I said only if your changing icon themes should the user have to wait for those links.

I don't prefer icewm but IMO, the menu looks a little too crowded with the icons stacked on top of each other.

I'm fully aware that the shutdown menu has been posted many times BUT assumed probably like everyone else that it would at least follow themes.

WorldTime had Sydney originally but was changed to Mickos Southport (to suit me) after Micko explained you upside down guys couldn't make your minds up about what time it was. What is it? Oh yes, 5-6 weeks and maybe time changes down there.

If you bothered to look in some of the pwidget configs you would see operational notes explaining how to change to whatever you require.

Me, I'll stick with GMT, we set it, we say so!!

Zigbert made a small stream recorder, only a few kb, if he made that work with streamripper it would save maybe 90kb out of that small package, If we had the extra space stream ripper would be a nice option. You bug WhoDo , LOL

Sydney is only a small dot on the Australian map, but its the Largest City by far, actually its around 1/4 Australia's total population, plus the Capital city Canberra ACT uses the same time. Unlike SouthPort which isn't the same time. I didn't even know Australia had a Southport,lol I knew about the one in the USA, what is the population of SouthPort, I bet its small.

I just write the odd widget, I can't say how Zigbert makes it interact.

I'm acutely aware of the CPU overhead and did my best to check the timings to ensure low usage.

Widgets are ready out of the box, but not customised.

A bit of detective work and you can lower cpu usage quite a bit. Timings are the key. Can't change 'clocks' they need the cycles but others refresh rate can be lenghtened at some sacrifice to usability.

Ok but to look professional on a world scale, I hope you aren't thinking that the timezones should be set by you and a couple of online chums do you? Really now, Things like Sydney, NewYork, London, Paris, Moscow, Shanghai, Tokyo are what users want, not how to learn and read up on using widgets and coding the changes, Think about new users and retired users who just want things to work out of the box.

London and Paris are same Time Zone. The French have long since pushed for GMT to be replaced with Paris time, in the EU.

One of the problems is DST. It's applied locally, differently. Time Zone and Locale don't help there.
