4.2RC3 - Claws Mail Problems

I downloaded an ISO of Puppy 4.2RC3 to see what differences there might be.

Apparently, the SeaMonkey Mail was replaced by the Claws mail client in this release candidate.

Gmail requires the SMTP and POP3 servers to have secure connection (SSL).

I haven't found any way of specifying that in Claws. Without that capability, Claws is useless for my purpose of using Gmail POP3 and SMTP.

Is there any way of specifying secure connections for servers in Claws?

Why was SeaMonkey Mail replaced by Claws?

If there is no way of specifying secure connection (SSL) in Claws, then I will not be able to use Puppy 4.2.

Thanks in advance for your comments. I really like Puppy 4.12 and would hope there is some way of using 4.2 for Gmail.

Sure to save some space.

You are running an release candidate. Maybe the developer didn't know or check if Claws had this functionality which SeaMonkey Mail and News has.

At least you noted this problem. But RC3 is a little late in the game. Claws could get etched in iso9660 release version for everyone to download and use.

Hi Harry please next time post it in the 4.2RC3 bugs section :)
I already fixed that issue and will be in the next release :)
if you want just install this version
http://www.puppylinux.asia/tpp/ttuuxxx/ ... 0-i386.pet
it has ssl already included, and should overwrite your current one.

username: puppy
password: linux
you'll probably have to type it twice :)
