Just realized -- I have the wallpaper itself on my main system (which is what I'm typing on now). So I'll just post that. Here you go...

Bing is M$ trying to end Google. I know, "good luck with that!" but I don't want to give them anything more than I absolutely have to.

Also, take a look at this.

More corporate greediness and monopoly-making than anything in the usual arena covered by politics... but then again, these days the two are hardly separable...

Also amusing is that Bing doesn't deliver personal sites, establishing under "Google Sites"...

600 pixels wide would be even better...

In light of recent disclosures (thank you sir Snowden), it would be sheer stupidity to keep using Google or Bing. Using those goes against the essence of what Puppy is all about...

Especially because there are alternatives that are improving all the time:

Or, in general, see : https://prism-break.org/

Sorry to have gone even more off-topic than you guys.
I just hope it can be useful :)

Agree - I've been using StartPage from some time now and it's quite decent indeed.

Ok, in the attachment my desktop layout I'm accustomed to from many months.
Maybe not epic, but I like it.

Details:
  • Puppy: Slacko-5.5-PAE
  • Window manager: Compiz/ROX
  • Emerald theme: Ordinary Black Glass
  • ROX icon theme: IceGlass
  • Cursor theme: Whiteglass
  • GTK theme: Phacile-blue
  • Wallpaper: Dark_black_curved_bloom
  • Desktop icons font: Extreme Leet
  • Window titlebar font: Fontdiner Swanky
  • Conky theme: ripped from Akita and slightly customized
  • + Wbar, ROX-Clock (x2) and Xonclock
Greetings!

Looks like you need to plug in your AC charger - battery is down to halfway... :-)

...and I love blue!! :D WOW vicmz! That's down-right gorgeous! Especially that taskbar theme that you are using.

Actually Starhawk? You could change the wallpaper the cut down on quite a bit of that blue now that I think about it. How about some nice space wallpaper designs from Space.com? I get a lot of terrific wallpapers from there - some lifted right from within the articles never intended for the purpose! ( Of course those could ONLY be used for "personal use" where they're either copyrighted to NASA, Space.com, or some other source which never expected them to be used as such. )

Keep up the tremendously terrific work there vicmz! So many of us here at the Puppy Kennels live and breathe on what you'll make next! And that's not a joke either. You've worked so very hard to help make Puppy to now appear to the world as the first-rate distro that it truly is and many of us here appreciate this more than you could ever know. Two thumbs up my fellow Puppian friend!! :D

Cheers/Amicalement,

I'm not sure why I like this setup. Nothing extraordinary. But this has been my setup for sometime now.

Just Puppified my little netbook (ASUS EeePC 1000HEB). Left the restore partition intact in case I decide to sell it later (so I can bring back XP... not likely). Decided to go with a 50s sci fi B movie sort of theme. I think this one's inspired a little too much by Forbidden Planet :P

Upup Precise 3991
Made the wallpaper myself
JQ8-Flat-Lite iconset
BlackPup GTK theme
Onyx JWM theme
...and a few color alterations in JWM's Options menu to make things readable...

Tell me what you folks think! Also, if anyone wants the wallpaper, I've got the (older) 1600x1200 version as well as the one shown here at 1024x600... I'll be glad to upload if there's interest :D
