Totally! One question though ... where exactly would I post it? In this thread or no?
(As you can probably tell by my post count I haven't posted a lot here. ;) )

Hello again, carenrose.

Thanks. 8)

I don't remember if we have a conky thread on this forum. But IMO, it
would be logical and ok to add your conky config file as a zipped
attachment, with your screeny in your message above.

(I mean: zip your .conkyrc file, come back here to edit your message
above, and then attach the zip file to your message.)

BFN.

A beautiful and efficent desktop created with
echinus-0.4.9 running on the most recent LucidPup-5.2.8.6.

From top to bottom:
  • ourico panel
    pwidgets
    terminal
    aemenu
    stalonetray
    fbpanel-exprimo-1.1
Backdrop credit: http://arpinux.org/pix/walls/wallpaper-922147.jpg.php,
with colors reversed (like a "negative").

The traditional "triangle" of Puppy icons was moved from the left side to
the right side using this script:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... h&id=71234

A freshly packed pet for this echinus version can be found here:

Enjoy!

maybe not gorgeous, but i like it. this is a gateway desktop, one of two single monitor (the other is a dell notebook) setups i have. all four of my computers are using a variation of this desktop, although only the gateway and the asus (which has lost the ability to run htop other than in a terminal--i've found a work around for this and the fact i can't call up the original puppy terminal--lxterminal or roxterm still work...) have conky running on screen.

on second thought, that orca skull and its icons are kinda gorgeous...

and i think the LO installation looks pretty sweet, too, although the menu is cut on this machine---it's the config file from an install that uses a secondary 24 inch monitor at 1600x1200 resolution. (this is a 26 at 1024 by 1200). (it's more of a tv).

the dell netbook:

asus netbook with second monitor (depicted as to the right, actually sits below):

HP dv7 something, 17 inch laptop with a 24 inch external monitor:

Image

that email icon represents a column of dead space between the two screens--this installation always wants to put the stock icons back, so that was the solution...

("it's not a bug, it's a feature.")

someone's apparently made a .pet remedy for this type of thing now...

better shot of LO:

Sorry it took so long. I didn't forget!

It has apparently been too long to edit my post, so here it is, the conky configs for my previously posted neon goodness!

Requires a Conky 1.7 + to display the image and certain things correctly, the 1.6 didn't do it. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=48725

And giving credit where credit is due, that wonderful neon puppy face was made by stevoomba. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 824f9edcba Best icon ever :D
And the basic design/layout, and much of the actual positioning of things comes from PinguyOS.

I recently discovered Iguleder's GuyDog, and found it runs much better on my old Thinkpad X24 (256M RAM) than the Lupu 5.1 I had been using, even with GuyDog's better features (Openbox, tint2, wbar). A big thank you to Iguleder (also to dejan555 for the wallpaper concept).

These are thumbnails, click to view larger. The theme is Owl Light.

Faenza icons, and I replaced the stock GTK icons with Faenza action icons. Figured out how to autohide wbar (set unfocused alpha to 0).

Yep, it's portable!
I just tried it on my wary 5.5!
Great job, carenrose! :)
