I'm guessing this is old, as the "Getting Connected - The Guru's Options" mentions Mosaic and states that dial-up MODEMS are at speeds of "2400 bps (bits per second) and 28,800 bps throughput".

No 56 K MODEMs in the picture here...

Still might be a good read though.
