Gcompris-8.4.13

#1 Post by GrumpyWolfe »

Hi all

When you have a 10 year old in the house who wants things on the computer for her well you just have to comply. I have made this from a pet gotten on this form and converted it to the sfs4 to run on MyWolfe which is based on the 4 series of puppy files those used to make puppy 4.3.

You can get it here

I was able to get the link to libsqlite3.so.0.8.6 into the old sfs that I made a while back so here is a link to the new version 2

Just out of curiosity ... did you use SDL or gstreamer for the audio? Also I can't seem to find a copy of the latest 8.X series source (removed upstream) and the 9.X stuff is pretty slow/erratic still ... do you still have the 8.X source somewhere?

The last SDL version in 8.X was much lighter and worked quite well, but I lost my compile of it and the new versions are really slow and have changed the canvas so that it is unstable (It wasn't visible at all before, but it was still usable ... perhaps I just need to upgrade some python modules?) For whatever reason the GCompris devs deleted all of the old files on sourceforge.

... btw I wish python developers would provide a separate package for the C code and libs - the source package for gcompris would only be ~1MB (besides the python code)
