Next time when you make a package, or In this case use other peoples packages and combine them, "How does he know thinks, ecomoney,??"...........
...........

...............
lol because you didn't clear your cache, you packaged Firefox2.0.0.20 with the cache included?? Your lucky you didn't leave much stuff behind, Basically you did a few forum searched about Java and had 444 results, and then you looked at a few of the packages and finally you downloaded one. Really packaging Java isn't that hard you know. Oh well if you ever need Beems IP here it is,you gave it to everybody who downloaded this package, good on you If I was cruel I would sniff for passwords but I'm not, but If I was you I would change them asap!! other might. Just some good advice Learn from your mistakes.

It would have been nice in your thoughtfulness
to not have posted Beems ip.
Just once mate can you think of the consequences
and delete/edit that part of the post.
By the way your smugness.
when WhoDo did 2.15CE he left that cache in as well.
So what if he FU.
Give it a rest.
Put on some music.
Read a book.
Think I'm back in the merchant navy with this level of bitching.

Chris beems ip is on a thread on here because someone used ip revealer, so its really part of the forum. unless that thread gets deleted. So I didn't think it was much of big deal, but anyways its deleted.cthisbear wrote:It would have been nice in your thoughtfulness

Thanks for testing everyone...even Ttuxxx!!! Peer review for whatever reason is what makes open source great, along with being able to build upon ("repackage") others work. If this wasnt the way then we would all be using keyboards with only two buttons..."0", and "1".
My apologies to Beem, I dont know enough about the "techie stuff" to know how this got included in the cache of this package (like I say I am a packaging noob...but learning). This is what the "Private Message" function of the forum is for if you didnt know Ttuxxx.
I will clear out the cache, (I assume this can be done from the "Tools>Clear Private Data". This browser is set not to remember passwords (its from a cybercafe!). I dont set the browser to remember passwords on home computers either, because its makes users lazy, and they "forget to remember" them themselves. Then if they lose their setup they also lose access to their email/facebook etc.
I will also fix a few other problems I have noticed (default download location etc). Im going to add another great little addon I found after a user request recently, which gives firefox the ability to download facebook videos. The only problem is this is that it downloads in the compact .mp4 format, which gxine will play without problem, but the files do not open automatically and play when clicked on. Any help on including the mime-type fix as well would be greatly appreciated. Help with getting the package size down (I dont think the cache is very big) would be appreciated too. I will contact Patriot (maintainer of JWM) for help about the fullscreen flash problem. Thanks for the pointer mikeb.
Ive also had a lot of bug reports from angry computer users that, when using the the pup_420.sfs package with this browser included, the word processor wont open M$ Word documents, and the printing system crashes. Ttuxxx....if you have the time would you also have a look into how the hell that happened?

Just a note, Ive been unable to contact Beem to warn him and make my apologies via PM, because of a problem with the accented characters in his name. He doesnt have an email or website listed against his profile. Guess Im going to have to make some "off-topic" posts to get his attention...

Im uploading some updated packages now, a pup_420.sfs, an ecofox_420.sfs and an firefox-2.0.0.20-ecofox.pet package. It will take a couple of hours from the time of this post on my creaky U.K. connection.
Updates/Fixes:-
-Have added the facebook downloader script
-Have fixed the security warning about upgrading to 3 series (you missed THAT one Ttuxxx!)
-Fixed download location, now downloads file to /root
-Removed Cache (only saved about 2mb).
-Installed updates to the plugins (so wont automatically upgrade them at first boot...for a while)
The pup_420.sfs package is now based around the pup_420.sfs from the excellently titled Puppy 4.2 'Shut Up Ecomoney' edition. This is essentially puppy 4.2 "deeper thought" by Ttuxxx, which includes all the bugfixes he made for his contributions to 4.2, such as the wordprocessor, printing system etc, together with the "bling" (zigberts pWidgets). This version has a desktop icon now too (no need to create it manually)
I have also found the problem with the fullscreen...its because of JWM!!!! Switch to icewm and you can enjoy youtube fullscreen goodness. I will contact patriot about this.

You didn't find that problem ,lol its just that the light bulb finally went on in your head, lol Its been a well known and document fact that the fullscreen issue is JWM related, ever since the first icewm package was released it worked, he how about you load up 2.15ce and see icewm full screen working, whats next are you going to say you figured it out that blackbox, openbox etc all work fullscreen here's a hint they do, lol Also no need to tell patriot about it, its already in that thread.ecomoney wrote:

Ok Ttuxxx......strictly speaking I discovered it for myself!
I found it on Barrys Blog here
http://www.puppylinux.com/blog/?viewDetailed=00015
And I put in the comments to confirm my tests. I hope he upgrades the flashplayer version in standard puppy if he reads them so people can have their facebook videos. I hope patriot fixes it in JWM too because its things like this that are really important to end users...and JWM can do transparency (like vista) too so I read. Maybe I will need to "Bully" him a little too
All of the packages are now uploaded. I expect you are "straining at the leash" Ttuxxx, off you go!

EVERYONE has to find out something.the first time. As I tell my "users", no one is stupid for not knowing about computers, theyre just stupid for not learning about computers. I did ask for any help on this subject.Winston Churchill wrote:If you have knowledge, let others light their candles with it.

please don't push for transparency with jwm, puppy is getting slower all the time with addons, the composite feature would be another resource hog, puppy isn't vista, puppy does look great with nice icons and backgrounds, even mouse pointers are cool, these things don't really take resources. all that other bling should in sfs file which people could use or delete, pwigets and jwm or icewm could of been configured in a sfs that could be deleted would of given better choices to people, same with a version of jwm with transparency, default could be without and sfs with, whats that a extra 50kb or so.ecomoney wrote:Ok Ttuxxx......strictly speaking I discovered it for myself!

Speaking of FF apereance I just remembered skining it with userChrome.css, this is easy and fun way of customizing it's look if anyone wants to try:

EDIT: And it will work best to use with "Bricks for firefox" theme

Rob, arrived here via another thread...
Note from P1 that you haven't included WOT plugin yet
I recommend it, faster updates than mcafee SA

other than that, - looks good, crashwise, youtube etc

Hi Aitch, thanks for giving this a test, [;ease let me know about any ideas or improvements. I did evaluate WOT (great concept), and I might yet still put it in. I opted for MF purely because of "Brand Power". I wonder would they both work at the same time...belt and braces?
I regularly hear from my users that this feature has saved them from all kinds of Teeth Pulling at the bank and problems with Phishing sites (they are so common nowadays), even if it trips my own personal website nowadays!

Yep, sure do & no noticeable hit on performance, AFAIKI wonder would they both work at the same time...belt and braces
My regular use is both, as they do slightly different things
WOT is more current/active/reliable IMHO
mcafee has more 'kudos' & the linked sites graphic is very useful, as is a direct link to whois,
Not sorted yet?,...... too much time & too many flame posts, I suspect.....even if it trips my own personal website nowadays!
Out of interest, I tried the latest firefox recently, to see if they'd sorted it - it crashed within 5 minutes!!
When not in puppy, using 'that other OS' I ALWAYS run Sandboxie for bank/paypal/email etc, & delete the sandbox directly after transactions
- it will force a re-logon to anything currently 'signed in'
You could recommend that to anyone still using it [that other OS] - especially people doing bank/paypal transactions or needing securer
[as opposed to secure - I don't think anything IS] emails/passwords,
& it also works with messenger/skype/SIP/p2p, or any other program you want 'secured'
I don't understand why it's not more recommended, it's so easy to use, [like puppy - delete on exit]
