It is wonderful to learn from the 1.0.6 Video Wizard that CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE is a keyboard shortcut to save you if your video interface becomes unusable, by taking you to a command line.

However, us newbies are then in a hard place, having to deal with the command line #. The help text that is diplayed there is good, but we need more hand-holding. It is not enough to know that if we enter <xwin jwm> we can get our GUI back. We need to know how to make video mode choices, too -- before re-launching the GUI! Playing with it a little, it seems like sometimes it is implicitly trying to launch a fail-safe lowest-common-denominator video mode. Which may be what we want. But that does not always happen -- we need to know how to force it. And it should tell us that is what is about to happen, so that we don't just give up and turn off the crashed computer at that point. If we have options about what video mode to re-launch, tell us, or tell us how to find out more.

Maybe the Video Wizard main screen should link to a whole page-full of information on this subject?
