kdrive - make need evdev.c |
|
I had no success in compiling the FDO-Xserver from CVS in Puppy.
I recompiled automake, autoconf and libtool. Maybe I should have updated pkgconfig and some others, too.
http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software_2fXserver_2fInstallGuide
However, I have much more success on my manually "tuned" Mandrake 9.2.
The script runs through, I just replaced /opt with /usr/local.
But the XServer itself was not compiled, it was missing some "proto"-files in lib/pkgconfig.
I simply renamed the existing ones, and could continue.
Currently the xserver compiles, but I had to delete the content of xserver/hw/kdrive/linux/evdev.c
I have no idea what it is good for, so
Barry, if you still have the kdrive-source, please send me a tarball of xserver/hw/kdrive/linux/
I would like to check that out.
Ok, just got 16 Xservers compiled, will strip all files tomorrow and test them.

Mark,
did you ever get the Unleashed or Sourcerer CDs?
I placed a patched Xfree 4.3.0 on the Unleashed CD, back around v1.0.4 and earlier I think, but then moved it to the Sourcerer CD due to lack of room.
The patch is to fix the scroll wheel going the wrong way.
It compiles in Puppy, can also compile the framebuffer X servers.
Send a p.m. with your postal address, I'll send the CD to you.
Someone, I'm trying to recall who, did compile kdrive from cvs, in Vector I think.

Thanks Barry, but sending the whole CD is too expensive.
I will look for an ISO to download, if I get errors by testing my compiled kdrive today
I already used kdrive on mandrake approx. 2 years ago, when X.org had no shadows yet. Unfortunately I deleted the source when X.org startet supporting that, too.

It even works without this file.
I will upload a testversion in 1-2 hours.
I might compile frome new with that file later.
