How to set locale / time to UTC-8 in Macpup 528?

#1 Post by Norm2012 »

Hi again.
I put the calibre ebook program sfs, in my frugal Macpup 528 install & it loads fine & puts menu entry, but...

When I launch Calibre it outputs an error message as follows:

"You need to set locale to UTF -8. Desktop->Country Settings->
Chooselocale country localizations (Checkbox at the Bottom)"

Checked Macpup help under choose locale & country wizard, but went to empty wikipedia pages.
Searched these forums & found some related info, but I don't see quite how to do this in Macpup E17 environment.

Sorry if I'm missing the obvious (have a feeling I am).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you try Shinobar's 'Personalize' from menu or also
typing 'firstrun' in terminal program?
