At some point in the 4.2 development process, BarryK's cups_shell script was significantly altered. The changes were made without documentation so their intent is not clear. Although the script appears to work, there remains a major issue concerning CUPS' use of dynamic PPD files.

I am only reporting this for future reference in case the current CUPS package is carried forward into new versions.
