Lexmark x5470 don't work with newest puppy

I can't get my Lexmark x5470 to work with the most current puppy release.It will recognize that it is a Lexmark 5400 series but thats where it stops.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

According to OpenPrinting.org, all the Lexmark x5000 printers are paperweights. And Puppy doesn't have a driver for anything close to this series. I think that you are out of luck.

Hmmm ...

It is rather unfortunate that recent Lexmark printer models are not supported under Linux. From what I gathered, Lexmark has withdrawn their linux printer DDK quite some time ago and the few lexmark drivers that I've found are for outdated models.

The newer models are using a proprietary protocol which lexmark is not gonna tell anyone. I guess you'll just have to give your piece of mind to lexmark.
