Alpha-Transparent Icons?

#1 Post by Pizzasgood »

Well, common sense tells me that I'm not going to get alpha-transparency unless I'm using 32 bit color. However, in ZipSlack I'm using 24 bit with IceWM and Rox, and my icons are alpha-transparent. These same icons are always scrampled when viewed in Win98 and Puppy. So, I'm assuming there is some library that either Rox or IceWM uses that allows me to have them with lower color depths. Does anyone know if I'm right and know how to transfer this ability over to Puppy?

Have you tried icewm in Puppy, if so have a look at the icewm files in ZipSlack and compare them to see where the difference is, if any.

Well, the ones in Zip are a bit bigger, so I'm going to try transplanting them. If that doesn't work, I'm going to see if there are any differences in Rox betweeen them.
