Thunderbird data not saved

#1 Post by mjg »

I installed Thunderbird and run it from a folder in my-applications.

I've got a problem now though where the account settings and data aren't saved with each exit from Puppy.

I'll go back to Sylpheed for now. Any suggestions re Thunderbird?

Thanks, but I had the program working and the accounts set up.

The problem is that each time I fire up Puppy the accounts data, folders, mail, etc is gone, and I'm confronted with the new account wizard to start all over again.

It worked for me

It works for me. I don't know why it works or why yours doesn't. Here is a step-by-step how I done it:

1) Downloaded Thunderbird for Linux from mozilla.org

2) Extracted the thunderbird???.tar.gz to /root/thunderbird

3) Using ROX I dragged /root/thunderbird/thunderbird to the desktop to make a shortcut. Then using ROX I changed the icon to the thunderbird icon.

4) Then I setup the account settings.

----------

System info:

Puppy version 1.0.2
type 1 install
icewm window manager

The data was restored when I ran Thunderbird from the root directory instead of my-applications.
