Live-CD does not work on Thinkpad 600e (Solved)

#1 Post by vitasam »

Hi,
trying to boot from puppy-4.2.1-k2.6.25.16-seamonkey.iso CD on my old laptop Thinkpad 600e.

After starting the process two lines do appear on the screen:
Loading kernel drivers needed to access disk drives done

Searching for Puppy files in computer disk drives...

and nothing happens after that.

I've tested apci=off boot option, but it did not help

Could somebody kindly point me in to correct direction?

An addition:
I turned ON the logging level 7.
And now there is a sequence of messages on the screen:

ata2.00: exception Emask .... /too much words/
ata2.00: status: {DRDY}
ara2: EH complete

I have read posts from the link. Mostly all posts are about sound problem in 600e (which is a known issue for this laptop).

But I have another problem - Live CD does not boot at all. Where I'm wrong?

Problem was solved:
just two boot-options: nopcmcia and acpi=force

I had to remember it from previous experience with Debian, just forgot it
