Woof Woof!

puppy 3.01 is puppy release that best works on my old Pentium III, so, I still use. for pdf manipulation, I use

pdftk (version 1.12)

Now, latest pdftk (1.41)
http://www.accesspdf.com/pdftk/
http://packages.debian.org/lenny/pdftk
has several features lacking in pdftk 1.12 (like stamp and rotation)

but I'm not able to get working pdftk 1.41 on puppy 3.01

once installed it shows a missing dependency
Code:
pdftk: error while loading shared libraries: libgcj.so.81: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

lib found, but trying to launch, gives this error:
Code:
pdftk: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by pdftk)
pdftk: /usr/lib/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libgcj.so.81)

do you know any way to get this latest pdftk working on puppy 3.01 or it is not possible at all?

right, i dont know much about the devx sfs and whats in it...

BUT it doesnt seem to have gcj in it, which appears to be whats missing in your first error and its possible thats what your second errors are about too (but i could be wrong on that) try contacting someone who knows more about the devx sfs, they might be able to help you more

I'm not using 3 series at the moment so I went looking for a fix to this issue, since you do helpout a lot with files and get special treatment because of it Smile, and well here's a pet that should work. remember its a terminal app right Smile
also something else I found out, is that vim has a plugin for it, that sounds even better. Smile

many thanks, God bless you. installed, same error is showed:
Code:
pdftk: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by pdftk)
pdftk: /usr/lib/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libgcj.so.8)

so, I think we have a critical GLIBC incompatibility in Puppy 3.01, because in Puppy 4.0 (having a different GLIBC) and above, pdftk 1.41 works fine
