MU,
this link might be of some help to you. It talks about compiling fluxbox with --enable-kde to support panel icons.

i have had update fluxbox in my todo list (for a long time) ... i also have not updated the fluxbox menu for 1.0.6

i think i enabled most compile options when i built fluxbox, but i probably did not enable xinerama support, and i probably did not enable kde or gnome support either

Have you all looked at the symphony desktop ?

ok, recompiled fluxbox with all options except nls (native language support). I got errors with that.

Theme Aqua on Kdrive-XVesa with shadows.

The menu-button on bottom-left is wxb-menue.
It would make sense to adapt Rarsas XDG-Menuescript for fluxbox.

Now I will try to make a Dotpup.

Earlier I might have messed up the icewm installation and so it was not working properly but with a new install it is working great with kde. So I would suggest icewm to be the default desktop manager for kde.

I will also try fluxbox + wxbmenu by MU and make a comparision of their memory usage.

klh I had a look at the symphomyos site. It looks great and uses the mezzo desktop (size 25 Mb).

I think icewm currently is the best desktop for Puppy.
Optimally integrated (menus), highly configurable (Pixmap-themes, config), and very fast.
And less bugs than JWM, and excellent support for NetWM-Standards.

There are some KDE-like themes for Icewm, too.
