Hi All.
I am using PuppyLinux 4.3.1. My HP6300 Scanner is not found by Sane, either at the GUI object, or "sane-find-scanners"
I have fully installed Puppy on a hard drive, so it can pick up the scsi card (an Adaptec 2940AU) on the way through, but I saw that a modified kernel may be required..
I am new to Puppy and would like some guidance, before I go and really wreck something
TIA and Regards
NICK
scsi scanner not found
There are two ways to get your SCSI scanner recognized.
One is to install a SCSI version of Puppy.
The other is to get the devx431 SFS file and the kernel source SFS file, install them and then download the source code for the SCSI card from Adaptec for your card, compile it, etc.
It is more than someone new to linux should have to do.
Maybe you can get some one on the forum to compile the driver for you and post it as an attachment along with instructions for getting it to work.
If you visit puppylinux.com and click on the developer selection. You will get an idea of what is involved.
