@trio,

If you're not using pupversion4.2, then you need to install tcl & tk .pets.

Hey, woof running beautifully here (except for a weird, triple rendered cursor...)

But what's the password for the server with your gnome games on it?
name:puppy
password:linux
grest news then :) tell me how the games go, plus checkout rest of the software I posted on that thread, page one starts here

ttuuxxx,

Oops, seems I spoke too soon. I can't install the games because it's not shutting down properly. It never gives me the opportunity to create a pup save file, and seems to just go into some sort of weird sleep or suspend mode. Strange!

Hi you don't have to restart your pc
just open the console on your desktop and type
fixmenus and hit enter
then go to Menu/shutdown/restart jwm
and then the screen will blink a lot and then check the menu/fun menu.
If your having shutdown issues you should report them to

I'm using the previous version of Upup and never had a shutdown issue like that, maybe try the earlier version, it works pretty well.

also if you want to join in with the testing/development of woof, have a look at Barry's blog

This is the version I'm using the earlier one

I have ksame installed, I could pack it into pet, but since it depends on kde libs it would be heavyweight for sucha small game lol.

Yeah, I saw that, too. It requires about 5 or 6 additional KDE libraries. How did you find and install the libs from within UpPup?

ttuuxxx,

Okay, the game runs fine following your instructions (neat!) but since Alpha 7 doesn't shut down properly here (and I cannot make a save file) I still can't really install it. I'll try dropping back to alpha and see what happens.

another way is to remaster the disk, since you do it live, it would include the game, :) then you could do a frugal install and manually copy over the sfs file and make a swap partition and just use the cd as boot.

Thats cool but I knocked down the package from over 30MB debs to a 6MB pet, only by removing 3 games, still has 14 of them :)

ttuuxxx,

No luck with Alpha 6 either.... same shut down problems. Something in Woof in its current state doesn't like my old laptop! :(
