Wow time flies only been 4yrs 8 months since the last update, and you guys figured 2.14x was dead, lol. Not yet it isn't!!
Ok this was stable release. I spent time around 100hr+ fixing things and working issues out, 2.14X has its limitations due to the kernel, like how large sata hardrives aren't recognized, This is my case with a new pc, so everything I updated I had to use a USB stick. grrr. Things like GlibC won't compile against this old kernel, But that's ok We don't need it for this stable release. The Next release will be a Alpha release, I will be "borrowing" GlibC from a large distro either slackware or Ubuntu/Debian So that we can use the latest browsers, I might have to get a new portable hard drive just for 2.14X.
Anyways here's what I did for this release, I hope you like the new Mimes and a few icons.
More Stable Release
-updated to gtk+-2.24.30

WOW what a large update, first I recompiled and updated gcc, then I updated the following, so that 2.14x is back to having bleeding edge status, The gtk2 used is most current version newer than any other puppy , The only issues know is fontconfig, it still works fine, just gives a bit of error report in xerrs, not bad for updating all this stuff. I'll look deeper into it for the next release

Ok This one took a bit of patience and effort to put together, I updated and added a few libs so that I could use a newer ffmpeg the reason why is so that 2.14X could play mp4 movies, and as a added bonus flv videos work on gxine and also mkv(matroska) video formats now also work, no need to hunt for another player like vlc or mplayer, gxine now plays just about everything fullscreen. but it did add a few extra MB even after I removed x264 bin and saved 889kb. But the extra gain does outweigh the extra file size.
2.14X was always my main pick for my multimedia pc that I play movies on my 40" lcd tv but it was lacking mp4 so for a short time I used micko's slackware pup, now that it plays mp4 just fine, 2.14X is back in the front seat again yahooooo
