Hey y'all,
Has anyone successfully got a VGA port on their laptop to display on a TV? I'm trying to do the same, only I'm using one of those cheap VGA to RCA cables. I can't seem to get it to work though my Intel GL40 supports it.
Mediapup-Based on Puppy 4.12 Retro
I guess I'll try it on Wow's puplet and see what happens.
VGA TV-Out, has anyone done this before? Resolved

Hi I had one like that before, well pretty much the same, it also had a switch on it, anyways to get it going, usually you start the xorg wizard, then select what ever display you use like 1024x768 @24
then select "TEST" and let it do its thing, then use the ctrl+backspace
and then when it ask are you finished you select no
a new screen pops up and this time use the "Generic" drivers
and do the test again. and the ctrl+backspace
and now finally click ok
also you might want to check your bios and make sure its using the vga out. The laptop I have here, I didn't have to, but you'll never know about those things.

Thanks for the tips Ttuuxxx
Turns out the cable was a dud. Broken. I used a regular CRT monitor to test plugged into the VGA port and there was no problems. To use my TV as a monitor, I'll probably buy a decent converter box, but not from Trademe, I'm sick of getting burned by China rip offs. (No offence intended to Asians please)
