aTunes not working? Subject description: Have loaded aTunes and dependencies and it will not start. |
|
Hi.
Newbie to linux here. Have been trying out puppy linux on an old celeron 566Mhz 64mb ram computer and have got puppy 4.2.1 retro loading for the HDD. I followed the directions of loading the dependencies before installing aTunes from the provided link and it seems to install ok. When I go to run it, nothing happens. No error messages or anything, it just doesn't start. Any suggestions on what I could try?
I'm basically wanting to use this computer in a garage to be able to play music and a little light web surfing.
Is the a program that would be better suited to my uses and computer setup than aTunes?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I'm kinda after something a little like WMP which I currently use under windows or itunes, where I can see my whole music library and play playlists, internet radio etc. I may be mistaken, but I had a play with some of the default players and none seemed to have that music library/management type setup.
Someone had suggested I try aqualung, which may be more suitable for my setup. I'll investigate that link you posted and do some testing in the next couple of days.

It is 1.13.1. In near future I will prepare 2.0.0. Now it is 2.0.0 - I updated.

aTunes 2.0.0 is available |

Why wait?
aTunes 2.0.0 deb package works like a PET: just download and click to install. Read more: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=23968&start=15.
I think 2.0.0 is even lighter than 1.13.6 which I have used since December. And it takes a smaller amount of puppy space than 1.13.6 did.
