For my very old laptop I made a "speed menu". It turns off conky, blinky etcetera.
A bit like: Puppy Greyhound (http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=33652)
Install the pet and then in terminal:
# fixmenus
# jwm -restart

Hi Martin,
please could you include also the virtual keyboard:
http://homepage3.nifty.com/tsato/xvkbd/
into browserlinux ?
And also FPIT , the touchscreen driver is really needed for my tablet PC:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/de/hardy/x11 ... input-fpit
Could you please include these or make a pet to install it ?
Also very cool would be a pet for boxee.tv or xbmc.org
Many thanks in advance.
Regards, Stefan.

Many thanks.

Can this autostart program be used to start the virtual keyboard ?
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=6084
Also it would be nice, if the WLan or Lan connection would
be recognized during bootup, so one could
go to the Internet when one starts Firefox already.
And how can I change the 1 click to 2 clicks ?
I am used under Windows to click 2 times to start
desktop applications when clicking on the icons.
Many thanks.

I just tested Browserlinux with the MPlayer full install
from the PET manager and this Mplayer is now the fastest
and smoothest solution to play my HD MOV Quicktime movies
from the Aiptek HD camcorder.
This is very good.
Earlier Kaffeine player from the Presto distribution was the fastest,
but now MPlayer under browserlinux rocks even more.
I dont see any dropped frames anymore on my Athlon X2 3800
NVidia 6150 chipset motherboard with 2GB Ram on a 1920x1200 monitor.
The question still is, if it would be possible to port Boxee.tv to
browserlinux as a pet, as this is a great multimedia
HTPC application.

Sorry for posting so many single messages,
but I want to keep them seperated, as these are different topics
related to browserlinux.
1. Well, another question I still have, why there are so many
slowdowns during booting ?
I am using a very fast 8 GB USB stick to boot from it
Browserlinux.
Always at the step
"Looking for disk drives" or something like this browserlinux
bootup makes a huge 20 to 30 seconds pause and the USB
stick is not blinking, so there is no access to the USB stick
and the screen is also not updated... so it seems the PC just waits
for a timeout or something ?
Could that be avoided somehow ?
2. Also I dont need the bootup going into this
Vesa menu first, where you can choose between
default and puppy. How can this be disabled ?
3. Did you remove the touchscreen drivers
from the normal puppy distribution ?
See:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 70&t=41286
Must I install the PETs, if I want to have the Fujtsu touchscreen driver ?

well,
I am very disappointed in this moment,
cause I had worked for more than 20 hours to get the wireless
Lan PCMCIA card with the Realtek RTL8180 chipset going,
but it always does not connect due to a WPA2 problem...
I tested all PET drivers for this card which I could find,
but am not yet able to connect to my wireless lan.
Which other current puppy oer puplet release does
support this ?
I really wish that we could get this to work under
browserlinux, cause I like it very much.
Please let me know any solutions.
Many thanks.
Regards, Stefan.

"save to cd" does not work
Disappointed as well. Hours installing the other stuff but on shutdown it said that my personal file was full and needed to migrate to a new dvd.
Even after I tried it without installing stuff, just setting..

Where can I found "Qemu-Browserpuppy" talked on the first page of this topic?
How to see space left in pup_save in conky?
Just add to the end of /root/.conkyrc:
Thanks

Hi,
is there already an NVidia driver ?
I always get so big fonts on my 1920x1200 monitor.
It seems the real resolution on my 1920x1200 monitor
is only set to 1280x1024 or something like this, cause
all the fonts are also horizontal aspect ratio distored,
so they are squished to the width. so with is larger than heigth
of the fonts...
Regarding boot time:
The boot time is still much slower
than the superfast Xandros Presto.
Could that be made faster ?
Although Presto uses KDE which also needs more boot time,
but Presto is booted up on my PC in about 15 seconds only,
but unfortunately it is payware and I want some open
source alternative !
Many thanks.

Hi,
I tested some other pupplets to see, if they
contain the latest WPA2 compatible
WIFI drivers.
I have a Realtek RTL8180 based PCMCIA WLAN card.
The pupplets I got the my Realtek RTL8180 based PCMCIA WLAN card
to work with WPA2 encryption are Fatdog2beta and Turbopup and Flexpup.
I hope you can use this soon as a base for Browserlinux,
so the WLAN WPA2 encryption will also work with browserlinux.
Hope this helps somehow.
Many thanks in advance.

New version updated to Firefox 3.5.2.
- Pictureviewer for PDF without the launchbuttons
- And (I think) better fonts for browsing (DaJa VU and Libaration Serif)
If you want more 'Web'fonts, download and install the Microsoft Webcore Fonts with this script:
