Make not in PATH (Slacko 5.6)

#1 Post by beartham »

In trying to install the HP printer driver foo2xjs, which must be compiled, bash says 'make command not found'. PPM says that make-3.82 and its siblings are installed, but apparently not completely. I found them in /root/.packages/builtin_files. Is there some final install step I am not doing?

until an adult comes along I think you need the devx*.sfs to compile

child here...

don't see anything in the source that might need the kernel sources... its not a kernel driver. So try with just the devx first..

I was trying to dip just my toe in, not my whole foot yet! :P
Ok, I will commit to a full immersion soon. What about interpreters like Perl? Do I need devx for that?

ha ha... wet feet..no problem. There might be a built version around here somewhere.

Perl on puppy is very cut down but there is a neat sfs floating around...
