I've tried every way of making a bootable usb .7a flash puppy to no avail. I've booted .7a from a cd and ran the setup from inside puppy but it would not boot, I've done it manually using syslinux in Dos and in Linux but they also would not boot.
One good thing though was that I was able to get .7a to load into 1280x800 on my Dell Inspiron 8600. So I'm sure that 1.0.7 will work great.
1.0.7a: can't create a Flash Puppy
But if you haven't tried QEMU-Puppy yet, then you will be happy to know that you don't need to boot from the USB to run Puppy! That is how I use it since I cannot change the boot order on the systems I use at work or school. QEMU is a virtual machine that Erik Veenstra has combined with Puppy to allow you to take Puppy with you everywhere! -DaveLobster wrote::oops:
I also tried but thought it was me when unsuccessful
- in fact I may have been succesful but a boot from USB is not a CMOS BIOS option . . .
ah well . . .
