RipOff Instructions Sub_title: Anyone know how to use this? |
|
I couldn't find instructions on how to use the RipOff cd ripper...anyone have instructions? Link? I searched for Ripoff and didn't have much luck... did I miss the thread?
I thought it was pretty intuitive, but I'm clearly doing something wrong as I've got no sound for those files...that's usually bad when trying to listen to a music file. I'm probably missing a plugin or something but I don't know how to figure it out...anyone have instructions?

Oops! Looks like a sound card issue...reset it, works fine. Gxine grumpy on a couple, but it appears to be a software issue (gmplayer works fine). No sweat.

Dear steve_s,
I downloaded and compiled ripoff last night. It created the mp3 plugin w/o the need for a separate compilation of the mp3 plugin (which is also available separately as source). Oddly, when I started ripping, the prog froze after the fifth track. I killed the process and started ripping where it stopped (i.e. track five), and, sure enough, the prog froze again after doing two more tracks. Have you had any such experiences?
With kind regards,
vovchik

...vovchek: it froze on me, but I thought it was 'cause of the crappy disk being all scratched up. But then I switched...see below...
aragon/all: to be honest with you, I switched to the Pcdripper that comes with 4.2.1 and I've never looked back...it ripped straight to mp3, didn't freeze, worked great. I went through like 5 disks that way, really quickly. You have to do a little more setting up before you get started, but I was very pleased with it.

I've been using Asunder I compiled on 2.14X for the past few days and I'm really impressed with the size and formats/ features and how simple it is to use.
I have it configures for mp3,wav,ogg,flac,wavpack
With WavPack you can go upto 512Kbps
also compiled tonight mhwaveedit, not a bad editor at all, I'm going to include both in my next release
