1.07a boot menu

#1 Post by pop-pop »

I found Puppy a couple of months back whilst looking for a small customizable OS to run backup scripts. Then it hooked me!

The 1.07a boot menu timeout of 10 seconds is too short to read and choose an option. Suggest maybe 30-60 seconds.

On my Dell laptop, I booted from CD with Option 5 and saved on shutdown. On reboot this morning the boot menu appeared (I didn't expect it based on how a 1.06 multi-session CD behaved) and I pressed Enter for the default. The boot stalled just after eth0 setup. Should the boot menu appear on the next boot after choosing multi-session? If so, should I enter 5 each time?

This laptop has only 1 meg of real video memory. With previous Puppies using, I was limited to a small 800x600x16 screen. With 1.07a and Xorg (and being "Dangerous"), it's great to see 1024x768x24 as with Winduhs XP. Nice work!
