#1 Post by Darkgame »

hi guys. Im still a newbie. But i want to try and help. Wine tricks did not work for me.
Thanks to winereviews.
Google 'how to directx wine' and u will see the guide. Read or u wont understand this thread.
The wine directory is /root/.wine
press the eye to see it.
1. Copy the 2 dlls. Override it.
2. Put in the overrides
3. Install directx 9
4. Install graphic driver from quickpet.
5. Enjoy

Hope it is okay to ask.

Suppose I have Lupu 525 with wine but witout directx9 then what windows program can not be run and them run after I did what you described there?

Does latest Internet Explorer run in the basic wine with puppy linux?
I know that spotify does. But have not tested other things.

I like to use Bacnk Identification Certifical program because it allow us to do Taxes and such. now only works on Ms Win so if directx9 would allow the ID program that would be cool.

Directx9 is that for the Silver... something that free streaming Sony and other such says one need?

I guess you use directx9 for some games? What else?

Edit

Yes that seems logical. It works for the program it works for. I guess me get that part :) Thanks I use google then.

Unfortunately this didn't help but thanks for trying postfs1 :) . I forgot to mention that i already installed direct x 9, the thing is that when i click on dxdiag .wine/drive_c/windows/system32 nothing happens. I'm using version 1.4 of wine, and Lucid Pup 5.2.8.005.

Followed all this stuff Darkgame...but
4. There is no install graphic driver from Quickpet on Three Headed Dog (Luci 529) But I have Xorg High.pet installed, glx gears giving around 6000 frames every 5 second on a ati all in wonder radeon 9200. Don't know how many it's supposed to do, but it works in puppy fine with gnome mplayer (swapped from X11 to Gl2)
So will the xorg work with direct x or does one have to install a (win) video driver specifically for Wine (1.4)?

Can't get dxdiag.exe to run. Might try the Polarpup, see if that takes directx.

I am posting this code for anyone that likes looking at that sort of thing
