Subject description: I thought most unlikely

Ok,

Today I had a request.

It wasn't too out of the ordinary.... "Can you please put Puppy on my computer?"

I've been running Puppy for well over a year now. My son, (who turned 12 today Very Happy ) has been running it for a while and has grown fond of Puppy. He appreciates the swiftness of the booting and loading of his desired apps compared to the vista install on his machine.

About three hours ago I had the request... from one who said she would never bother with Puppy, my wife! Now, she uses her machine mainly for Facebook and email and a few silly (to me Laughing ) online games. For the last two and a half hours I have had peace! No more nagging... "Why is my machine so slow?"... "How come yours is ok?'... "What's wrong with this thing?"

Er...(me) "Is your antivirus up to date?"... "Have you defragged lately?".. "Is your antispyware current???"

(wife) "What?"... "That's it!!!... Just put Puppy on this thing!"

Now, the wife's machine is no slouch, P4 with 1 gig of ram. XP Pro is the system it came with, but with every update and new program you could feel it slowing.

I loaded Puppy 4.2.1 on it, got Firefox 3.5 installed, retrieved her wallpaper and clockskin from XP, put a firefox icon on the desktop and in the JWM tray.... she took one look and asked if I did anything! Rolling Eyes It's early days yet, so far so good but I'm sure she'll be happy ...and me too Smile .
