I am running Puppy 5.1.1 on our old Dell Optiplex GX1. Despite all my best efforts, I can't get the sound configured to where it will work after I restart the computer. As things are now, we have to run ALSA upon startup if we want the sound to work.
I think, for the sake of saving time, it might be best to find a sound card that works a bit better with this OS. I went on line and found a list of Linux compatible hardware and the Soundblaster Live series of cards was on it. As far as I can tell, the above sound card will work with this machine. I just thought I should check with some of you to make sure it will work with this OS before I take the trouble to install it. Thanks.
PS: Here is the URL to the list
