An easy way to run KDE 3.5.10 applications

#1 Post by Rocket »

Here's a simple way to run KDE 3.5.10 applications on Puppy.

1. download the file kde163.xzm from http://sms.it-ccs.com/downloads.html (approx. file size 98 megs)

2. change the name of the file to kde163.sfs

3. load the sfs with SFS-Load on-the-the-fly.

Use only "on the fly" because the sfs will cause boot problems unless modified.

I've tried it on PolarPup and Slacko and it works fine. Should work on any Lucid system.

K3B is included in this one... is it ?

K3B is included in this one... is it ? I shall look. I seldom burn CDs. Last time, i used DPUP KDE 484,
Graphics and Burning CDs included in the SFS are good quality, for simple tasks,
K3B will succeed when other burning tools fail.
This Sfs is a good package, avoiding to load Libre Office on the back of your speedy little Puppy,
Some would say it's old stuff.. I answer old stuff, be it does what it is done for.
my stored K-Office-1.6.3.sfs is only 47 M, so perhaps k3b not included.

Could care a less about their opinions. Under Linux, K3b TRUMPS the competition!

Besides, "K3b's not included among the 47MBs of my SFS" isn't what we're discussing here.

It's to big to install, told me a french speaking canadian, famous on our Puppy forum.
as dpup kde available, in my tool case, i will run it for burning my CDs (K3B included) when needed.

krita, kexi, and other nice apps are included

K-Office-1.6.3.sfs: 47 M is useful, for graphics applications, K3B however is not included, but krtia, kexi, and other nice apps are included for a cheap price.
