Puppy with LCD TV using S-video

#1 Post by nkline »

Hi,

I am trying to connect an old PC running Puppy Linux to an LCD TV using an s-video connection. The hardware involved is listed below.

The problem is that the image on the TV remains distorted. Puppy recognized the video card and used the 'tdfx' driver. Puppy unsuccessfully probed the TV and asked that I choose from a list of generic monitor types.

So, I chose "640x480 h31.5v40-70" and video mode "640x480x16".
The white Puppy X dialog box was visible but distorted with white squares and two images. Using the VESA driver produced the same results. Likewise when manually setting the horizontal and vertical frequencies.

How can I configure Puppy to play nicely with this LCD TV? Thank you for your help,

Nick
