Puppy 4.3 beta 3 Virtual Machine Sub_title: VMWare Player
Take a quick look at 4.3b3 while you're in Windows - What better do you have to do there?
Puppy 4.3 beta 3 VM is an installation of Puppy 4.3 beta 3 in a virtual machine that can be “played” by the free VmWare Player. It is for people who have to work in Windows, in order that they can have a little bit of Puppy Heaven right there on their Windows desktop.
1. To use it one downloads the Puppy_4.3b3.zip archive (101MB) and the VMWare Player.
2. Install the VMWare Player and Right-Click to unpack the Zip Archive.
3. Then open the Puppy 4.3b3 folder and double-click the Puppy_4.3b3.vmx file.
4. Viola. There’s your Puppy!
This does not have the vmware tools installed and consequently does not share folder or copy and paste with the host system. It does have mouse integration so the mouse moves easily between host and guest, plus it is nicely small.
When I download and test on XP, VMWare Player asks me if I Moved or Copied the virtual machine. Choose Copied, which is the default. It also gives me some info about available USB devices on the host machine and there I click OK. Then Puppy 4.3 starts.
