@ 01micko,
Pretty handy is a major understatement. This was totally above and beyond the call of duty. With a some time I plan to be able to do the same for someone else some day. But I've got alot to learn before I'm ready for something like this. But learning is half the fun and one of the main reasons I switched to linux in the first place.

@ Patriot
Sorry to leave you hanging, I thought I sent you a PM telling you it worked perfectly. But, checking back it looks like I dropped the ball on that. I KNOW I typed it up, must have gotten pulled away before I sent it. Please accept my sincere appologies. I hate the thought of looking unappreciative when you went to such great lengths to help me out with this. You will always be one of my all time puppy heros.
Thanks plankenstein.

When a fix works, its great to let the community know too, so a public posting is better than a PM. Glad it worked for ya! That Patriot is something else huh?plankenstein wrote:@ Patriot

@Daves,
Yes, I agree that I sould have posted on the forum instead of a PM. But, since Patriot called it a preliminary I thought there might be more he wanted/needed to do before we told the world about it. Really not too sure about the do's and don't's of PM's. As a matter of fact, his was the first PM I had received. That may explain why I didn't even notice I had one until he posted the fact in this thread. Anyway, live and learn, that's what makes it FUN.

Hmmm .....
@plankenstein
That's okay and no harm done. Was just wondering perhaps you're busy with life and hadn't gotten to it yet ... don't fret about it ...
Anyway, yes, I thought of them as preliminary driver set because while I'm pretty sure I got them laid out in proper order, I may have missed a thing or two ... so, a direct pm will cut down some chatter and get it done right ...
@DaveS
Dave, I would prefer to first verify that its working fine before letting the world now ... I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time getting half-baked drivers.
I've already completed rebuilding canon pixma/mfp drivers for v2.80, v2.90, v3.00 and v3.10 series (about 16 models, I think). I'll be posting them as soon as I can ... (yes, it'll also include ip4600) ...
However, I'm experiencing some intermittent net connection (again). Have to do some troubleshooting with my connections/devices first ...

Unfortunately, my copy of Slacko is a puppy derivative and the cups localhost:631 page gives me a 404 file not found.
Browsing through the system it appears that there are a lot of cups directories. I don't know what the deal with the CUPS wizard is. I'm looking into it.
