How do I log in as Root?

How can i login as root?
If i want configure anything puppy says I am not a priviliedged user.
su does nothing

Need more info. What is your configuration? (Booting from CD or USB flash drive or hard drive? Using pup001.zip on Windows partition?) Which version of Puppy? Did this happen the first time you tried to use Puppy? Have you tried using your Puppy on any other computers?

i installed puppy for the hard-drive (from puppy live-cd)

Puppy's default is to run as root

Typing the su command just returns you to the prompt

Enter the whoami command and see what it reports
