whois-5.0.0.pet

#1 Post by moB »

This is a new whois (RFC 3912) client rewritten from scratch. It is
inspired from and compatible with the usual BSD and RIPE whois
programs. It is intelligent and can automatically select the
appropriate whois server for most queries.

whois searches for an object in a RFC 3912 database.

This version of the whois client tries to guess the right server to ask
for the specified object. If no guess can be made it will connect to
whois.networksolutions.com for NIC handles or whois.arin.net for IPv4
addresses and network names.

Made for Lucid Puppy.

Lucid users can of course simply download from the ubuntu repository.

I am waaay too impatient to wait for the list to be processed. It was much faster to make a pet.

mohan34u has an older whois pet for puppy 4 series: whois-4.7.27-i686.pet

Here are some posts relating to whois:

You can always use the web to find a whois service, but I prefer immediate
action, myself.
Besides, getting gooble, or any other reporting agency, who is (hehe) needlessly involved seems like a bad idea.

Zero bytes upload limit... sad days!

Get it here when I can upload it
