nap

#1 Post by ariel »

nap is a tiny script that allows the standby function on unsubmissive laptops. the package creates an entry in `system', in the start menu.

i've tested it on a Nec Versa M500c running puppy 4.2.0 that didn't recognize the native standby function you've got by pressing the proper key combination. the result was excellent, it worked like a charm! so, this won't resolve the global warming but i often like to leave my laptop on standby.

on the contrary i've tested it on an Asus MP8300b running 4.2.0 and it doesn't work. but that's not a problem as with this laptop its key combination works properly.

so i think nap may run on latops that refuse to standby and not run on laptops that don't need this script at all, which is fair for everybody, right?

good luck.
