STX linux (review)
I was very skeptical of STX when I first had a look at the their website.
When I installed the iso it was very familiar, as I used pocketlinux for a while. So I installed it without no probs. Now when I boot into this ede desktop enviroment I was not impressed. When I tried ede in puppy
I was not impressed either, at least the screenshots look good ?
So I installed my fav KDE. Installed and booted without no issues, plus stx is
slackware 10.2 compatible. Very nice. Only problem I had was that I had to install the compiler, well at least it was easy to find!
So what is different about stx than other distro's ? It is a good base system
for starters. Plus it comes with gnome components for easy installing of gnome projects/apps. Did I mention i installed rox 1.2.2 same as puppy ?
I can't see using a computer without it ?
EDIT: Downfall for me. I dislike Xorg very much so I will have to compile xfree and then learn how to make stx use xfree instead of xorg. _________________ Heaven is on the way, until then let's get the truth out!
